(STOCK PHOTO) This is a brand new 1935 to 1940 Ford Cross Steer rack and pinion. This Cross Steer rack finally allows you to put rack and pinion steering onto your early Ford straight axle! This rack creates very little bump steer and no play in the rack travel. Basically, this rack eliminates both tight and loose spots that are found in many of the stock or after market steering boxes. The ratio on this rack is a bit slower that the standard Cross Steer to make up for the heavier vehicles. It still offers smooth, consistent, and easy steering throughout the entire travel. This is a great upgrade to your Street Rod! You will feel the difference over a steering box. There are few key things to know before you start to install your new Cross Steer rack. First, this rack is designed for an unboxed frame. So, if you do not already have an unboxed frame, you must be willing to unbox a small section. Also, this rack only works on stock or 2" dropped axles. It will sit to low in the 4" and 6" dropped axles. Finally, if you have a wishbone suspension, it must be split.
