Description:
A new universal 5 bolt hole sending unit for use with Stewart Warner, Autometer, Classic, Omega, and several other fuel gauge brands. The OHM rating of this sending unit is 240 OHM-33 OHM (240 OHM is empty and 33 OHM is full. This sending unit comes with 5 special O-ring bolts and mounting gasket.
This sending unit will not work with VDO gauges or stock OEM gauges.
The sending unit mounts with five mounting screws and it works on fuel tanks from 6-24 inches deep by cutting to length using the instructions provided. Since fuel tank senders are only read resistance to ground, they work on all 6-24 volt systems (positive or negative ground). They do not have a fuel pickup tube built into them as some original senders may. This sending unit is made with a high quality ceramic boad rheostat.
There are always exceptions. Please check double check your ohm rating before ordering. The resistance of your fuel sender should match that of your gauge. The following list is for stock gauges and some popular aftermarket brands:
- Ford up to 1986 - 73-10 Ohms
- Ford 1987 & up - 16-158 Ohms
- GM up to 1964 - 0-30 Ohms
- GM 1965-1997 - 0-90 Ohms
- GM 1998 & up - 40-250 Ohms
- Mopar up to 1986 - 73-10 Ohms
- AMC 1950-1977 - 73-10 Ohms
- Autometer -240-33 Ohms is the most common however other ohm ranges are made
- Classic Instruments - 240-33 Ohms (excluding vehicle specific gauge kits which use factory ohm range)
- Dolphin - 0-90 Ohms
- Dakota Digital - Programmable to work with most Ohm range senders
- VDO - 10-180 Ohms
